Polls Finds Bachelet Viewed As Best President in Chile’s Histo

FRIDAY, 03 SEPTEMBER 2010 07:19
A recent IpsoH s survey carried out for the bicentennial celebrations found that Michelle Bachelet is considered to be the best president Chile has had. Bachelet received 43 percent of the vote, followed by Jorge Alessandri with 8.5 percent, and Ricardo Lagos with 6.6 percent.

Michelle Bachelet, who was president from 2006-2010, left office with a sky-high approval rating of 84 percent, the highest approval any president had ever received.
Recent criticism that she handled the earthquake tragedy poorly during the final days of her presidency appears not to have tarnished her image.

Bachelet recently returned from Spain, where she received an honorary doctorate and met with the leader of the Basque Government. Bachelet - a pediatrician and epidemiologist with studies in military strategy - served as Health Minister and Defense Minister under President Ricardo Lagos before winning the presidency. She is a separated mother of three and describes herself as an agnostic. The survey covered presidents before and after the dictatorship that ruled Chile from 1973-1990.

I liked this article of this journal as it is interesting and good. What I do not like is that it has many images and is more boring:)
