(May 5 - 23) Since 1953, Ottawa has hosted the Tulip Festival commemorating and celebrating this gift of peace, humanity and the different cultures of the world. 2005 was special because it celebrated the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II in addition to the 150th Anniversary of the founding of the city of Ottawa, Capital of Canada.
During the two weeks are approximate duration of the festival, the city is covered with millions of colorful tulips everywhere. One of the most beautiful areas of Commissioners Park is where you can see more than 300,000 tulips in bloom.
The festival not only is the display of tulips, there are concerts, art exhibitions, parades and fireworks. Music in the Tulips - part of the festival - packed with hundreds of musicians playing in the Commissioner's Park in the Festival Plaza, Ottawa City Hall and Major's Hill Park
